The bridge on Commo Road (off Frank Tippett Road) is now OPEN.  Effective immediately, accessed through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) Campus off Dangerfield Road in Clinton, MD will be prohibited.      FLETC Security will begin directing Department members and visitors to the Frank Tippett Road side of Commo Road to access the Training & Leadership Academy.

The Training & Leadership Academy of the Prince George’s County Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department is responsible for the sponsorship, coordination, and, facilitation of emergency services training for all Department members.  In order to meet the complex and dynamic needs of the Department, the Academy provides unparalleled training and educational programs.  Our programs are designed with a focus on quality to enhance the performance and professional development of Department members in an effort to better serve the citizens, residents, and visitors of Prince George’s County, Maryland.  The Academy campus consists of four classrooms; a three-story, 5000 square foot, multi-purpose burn building; flashover simulator; and an emergency medical services simulation lab.

It is the mission of the Training & Leadership Academy to provide comprehensive, quality training and education programs for all fire, rescue, and emergency medical services personnel in order to create and maintain a competent and professional workforce necessary to support and accomplish the mission of the Prince George’s County Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department.

Our Vision

The vision of the Training & Leadership Academy is to become a recognized regional leader in providing premier fire, rescue, and emergency medical services training and education through the use of consistent quality training strategies within a structured environment, consisting of qualified instructors.
